„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Splendid home victory
With some excellent defending and fantastic saves from Kyra Csapó we got a nice home victory against Mosonmagyaróvári KC.
We did not expect an easy win tonight as MKC was right behind us on the league table.
Goals from Szekerczés and Szalai opened the match, before Popa striked the first away goal. After the fast break goal from Nick Viktória already 4-1 stood on the scoreboard. The difference stayed and when Itana Cavlovic hit the net from the pivot position, Bognár Róbert, the away coach called a timeout (7-3).
In attack Kohász seemed to slow down a bit, but thanks to the saves of Csapó Kyra, the opponent cannot come closer. 10 minutes before the halftime György László invited his players to the sideline. Kazai, Szekerczés and Molnár brought DKKA forward and when already five goals separated the two teams (11-6). With a patient play we kept our 4-5 goal lead until halftime (14-10).
The second half begun with an away goal, but the Kohász players wanted to show the opponent that today they cannot win against them. Defense was still strong and Csapó was irresistible at the goal. Three quick counters helped to increase the lead. Kohász were 6 up in the 36th minute (17-11) and two minutes later Bognár Róbert needed to ask for a timeout again (19-12).
Along came a not so effective period; missed penalty, and bad finishes. MKC had a 3-0 run at that time, but after 19-15 Kohász seemed to get back on track. 10 minutes before the end of the game again six goals divided the two teams (23-17). Mosonmagyaróvár needed to take more risk, but this was well used by the DKKA players, when Jovovity hit the net from a 7m throw the fate of the league points were already decided. Young player of ours managed to score another two goals, and even though MKC could finish their attacks with goals it did not matter. We gained a nice 27-20 victory.
György László: - We prepared well for this match, let me praise the defense and the performance of the goalkeeper, they were key to today's victory. In attack I saw some promising moments as well, but here improvement is necessary. Luckily there was always somebody who helped when really needed. It was not an easy game, we needed to work hard to win it. I am really happy for Ferenczy Fruzsina, who could return on the court. Congrats to the whole team.
