„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Nice farewell from 2019
Adult team of DKKA closed the year with an eleven goal victory against Szent István SE.
After almost a two-month-long break the league continued for us. We played against Szent István SE, that although being last on the league table, gained some nice results during their last two games.
Pupils of György László hoped for a win of course. They got off to a good start as they started the game with 4-0. Szekerczés Luca scored one, while Grosch managed to hit the net before the away timeout from Vojkovics Gyula in the 7th minute. The opponent could reorganize their tactics and get some goals on the scoreboard, however the home team had their responses, so they kept their 3-4 goal lead (9-5). Lots of suspensions made it harder for the hosts at this time, which gave a chance for SZISE to come closer. This time György László needed to invite his players to the sideline (9-8). Szekerczés got her second suspension, but Kohász could still increase the difference right after Luca came back to the court with two flawless penalties (13-10). The final minutes did go better for Kohász, Bouti's and Szalai's shots found their way to the net, which resulted that DKKA was leading 16-12 after the first half that brought ten (!) two-minute exclusions.
Thanks to captain, Szalai Babett Kohász got away by five right after the switch of the sides. The team of Budapest tried their best to keep up the pace with the hosts, but the big rush resulted mistakes which led to a point when the difference started to grow again. In the 41st minute another timeout was necessary for the visitors (23-16). This did not seem to help, as Sirián scored two quickly and 15 minutes into the second half the fate of the two points seemed to be decided already (25-17). The speed of the game did not decrease, but both of the teams played with quite many mistakes. György László gave a chance to all his players, so Mihály Petra and Jovovity Jovana marked their signatures on the scoresheet. DKKA managed to get a nice win with a final result of 33-22, which was also a step forward in the league table too.
