„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
We did not give it up
In a well fought game our team managed to equalise when it was really needed, so we returned home from Budaörs with a point.
Our team wanted to break their negative record and after eight lost league matches to finally get a decent result. But it was also an important match for our opponent, Budaörs as well as they were in need for points too.
The two teams started the game with great enthusiasm, but they quickly realised that defending could be a key today. The home side managed to use our mistakes and they got away in the middle of the half even by three goals, but our team closed the first thirty minutes efficiently and they levelled the score before switching sides. (13-13).
The second half started better for the opponent, they quickly got back their three-goal-lead. Ours fought well, but had to catch up with Budaörs. In the 50th minute the fate of the two points seemed to be decided when the home built a comfortable lead (25-20), yet ours did not give it up for a second, they understood the importance of the last ten minutes. At this point, our defense worked really well and thanks to our key players, we could finish the attacks on the other side of the court. In the last minute we could launch an attack to level the score, and after the timeout Szalai made no mistake. So the clash ended with a draw. Our handballers seemed really happy that they could close a really bad period.
