„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Even with a wobbly game, progress is assured
After a good first half a second half of suffering, yet our academy's senior team qualified for the fourth round of the Hungarian Cup against Komárom with confidence.
DKKA's adult team played in the third round of the Hungarian Cup against NB I/B Komárom today at 5 pm. The favourites to progress were clearly our team, and our handball players started the game with two quick goals. The guests responded with two, but in the next four minutes Kohász scored five in a row to pull away (7-2). The basis for a good continuation was there, and although the guests, who had several former Dunaújváros players, tried hard, our handball players confidently held and even increased their lead, so in the 16th minute Komárom called a time-out (13-6).
The short break and the following line change did not break the momentum of Kohász, and although Komárom scored several times, Sallai, Lakatos and Gajdos hit the net on the other end, so in the 23rd minute they had ten goals (19-9). In the final period of the half, the visiting team came back under ten, but the last minutes were again ours, thanks to goals by Bouti, Agócs and Gajdos, we went into the half-time break with a 25-14 lead.
The biggest question in the second half was not whether we would go through, but whether we would be able to stay focused and disciplined in the face of our huge lead. In the first ten minutes of the game, our team had problems with concentration, missing several clear chances, and the visitors took the lead by 4-3 (28-18). The rest of the game did not go according to the plans either, as our handball players continued to make many mistakes, and the enthusiastic Komárom team reduced their deficit (29-22).
Our team couldn't improve the game, because even though Sallai and Lakatos scored and the advantage get back to nine goals, but after 31-22 our net was hit seven times in eight minutes and we scored only one, so in the 58th minute the lead was only three. Bouti's goal was answered by Temes in the final half, but what's important; DKKA got qualified for the fourth round of the Hungarian Cup with their victory.
