„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
A nice closure of the year 2018
With a much better performance in the second half DKKA won 32-27 on the last match of the year against county rival Alba Fehérvár KC.
After a long break in he league DKKA hosted the team next door, Alba Fehérvár KC just a little before New Year's Eve. Our team recently lost two players, as out young, talented player Katrin Klujber signed for Ferencváros not long ago, while Katarina Tomasevic got seriously injured during the match of the Serbian national team in the European Championship and it seems she will be out for a longer period of time.
The fact that none of the teams played league matches for a while was clearly visible the attacks lacked finesse. The first two goals were scored by the visitors, but then the Kohász girls had a 3-0 run by Szalai Grosch and Szekerczés. It resulted a 3-2 lead after 10 minutes. The match continued with one-one goals from each sides, and although FKC was got the lead once again, thanks to Szekerczés and Sirián DKKA managed to get away by two goals from their opponent (8-6). The home team could even increase the difference, but after some mistakes the visitors managed to quickly come back to the match (11-11). Until the break both teams had the chance to get a small lead, but the draw stayed, 14-14 was on the scoreboard at halftime.
During the break the management and the team together with the supporters had a farewell ceremony for Katrin Klujber, who continues her career in green and white in the future. It was a very emotional moment as Bojana Radulovics and Vilmos Imre guided Keti to the court where she received some farewell presents, that would remind her of the 11 years that she spent in Dunaújváros.
Soon the second half started, the biggest question remained which of the two teams can stabilize its defending. Luckily the home side did it better, as they had a nice start; Szekerczés, Monori and very young Mihály Petra scored. Deli Rita, head coach of the opponent team needed to call a timeout both in the 41st and 45th minute to shake her team up, yet DKKA, that has done well both in attack, in defense and in the goal as well thanks to Csapó Kyra, was leading 24-17 already. Fehérvár speeded up their attack and went immediately towards the goal after the throw-offs, but in the key moments the Kohász players also managed to score followed by much longer attacks. The lead of Kohász did not decrease significantly as the match turned into the last five minutes (29-24). Luckily this did not give too much excitement for the last part of the game and our girls said farewell to the year 2018 with a comfortable victory of 32-27. Congratulations!
György László: - It was an important match for us. We fought hard for 60 minutes to get the result what we wanted against our rival. Well-deserved two points, congratulations to all the team members!
