Despite having the lead after the first half, the adult team of our academy made a lot of mistakes in the second, so they suffered a 34-29 defeat at the home of Vác.
Adult team of our Academy continued the K&H women's handball league abroad, with a clash against Vác. Although the odds were in the favour of the home team, ours hoped to get another surprise result.
The first ten minutes of which brought a see-saw battle, the sides made a lot of mistakes on both sides, but while the hosts were able to score five goals in the first ten minutes despite the mistakes, DKKA only succeeded twice, so it was no surprise that Attila Vágó he had to call a timeout early (5-2). After a short break, our team switched tactics, used 7 vs 6 in attack, which repeatedly worked. Ferenczy, Schatzl and Bulath managed to equalize for the 17th minute, and DKKA even took the lead with Ferenczy's fourth goal (8-9). Vác also quickly switched to the same tactics, and although they were able to turn the score once, as the halftime approached Kohász had a good run, hit the net after each attacks and quickly gained a three-goal-lead (13-16). However, the hosts didn't want to stay behind they were just one goal down again in the 29th minute. The last moments ours were more focused, and thanks to the last minute score of Gréta Horváth, we waited the second 30 mins with a two-goal-advantage.
Our handball players started the second part of the game with a goal even after the turn, but errors and a led to a quick equalize by Vác (19-19). Unfortunately, the Kohász players gave away the balls in attack too many times during this period and the hosts used them relentlessly, scoring the easy goals in a series. Vác had a 8-0 (!) run when finally Ferenczy, who played a decent game, broke the goalless DKKA period (24-19). Despite the very spoiled first ten minutes, our team tried to keep up with the home team and with a 3-0 series the match became completely open again (24-22). However, further catching up was prevented by more balls given away and bad finishes in attack. Lead of Vác started to grow once again, so Attila Vágó had to invite his pupils to the sideline (29-25). However, the hosts, played more accurately in the last minutes and kept their advantage and finally achieved a 34-29 success against DKKA. For which our mistakes at the beginning of the second half may be mainly to blame.

MKSZ decided to end youth contests
2021. Apr. 30. #DKKA utánpótlásThe Professional and Competition Committee of the Hungarian Handball Association (MKSZ) declared to end all the youth series of competitions for the season 2020-2021. They are however giving the opportunity to teams to organize tournaments for the period between 22nd May and 30th June 30.
