„ACÉL A SZÍV!”
Well done!
On an exciting match we gained a point in Debrecen!
Our opponent in the league was yet unbeaten before today's match, beside 5 victories and a draw they were second on the table of the National League (NBI). György László expressed that flawless team play is necessary to return home with a point or points in the pocket.
We started the match well; Csapó with a save and Bouti with a goal. The opponent could quickly equalize and the teams were neck and neck (4-4). DVSC (a.k.a. Loki) could away by three after this with a great run, but our team did not want to let the hosts to gain a bigger lead, so with the leadership of Szalai and Szekerczés they managed to level the score again (8-8). Debrecen yet again got the lead and increased it, but towards the end of the half just one goal separated the two sides. DVSC had a two goal lead for halftime (15-13).
Second half started also better for us, Bouti could score once again, and although we had the chance to equalize, we could not take it. The home team also could not increase the lead. Csapó Kyra shoved some nice saves in the goal, and in the 41st minute when Molnár scored, 17-17 was on the scoreboard. After a home timeout Debrecen could get the lead two times, but in the 46th minute already we had the upper hand (19-20). György László invited his players to the sideline at 20-20 but at that time the goalkeepers were on fire on both sides.
As the end of the game drew near, both teams were eager to decide the fate of the two points. Saves, missed shots, penalties...21-21 then 22-22. Although Szalai got the lead for us once again, the two minute suspension of Bouti did not come good for the last two minute of the game. Vantara-Kelemen equalized and we looked forward to seeing a very exciting 90-second-long gameplay. Szekerczés' strike while being a player down meant that we were one up, but a penalty hit by former DKKA player, Bulath levelled the score for one final time. The final score of 24-24-es is a great result in Debrecen, well done Girls!
